Position DescriptionThe Staff Accountant will be a key member of the finance team. This position will be responsible for accounting support for segments of the business. General ledger and month end responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with internal and external financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and will be located in our Cambridge office.
This is a new position that will interact with all levels of Finance management. This is a hands-on position and the ability to multitask and work with others is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries.
Prepare and analyze account reconciliations.
Prepare reports detailing monthly expenses by cost center.
Analyze total expenses, including comparisons to forecasted and trended results.
Ensure feeds from U.S. third party logistics providers accurately reflect inventory and sales transactions
Ensure that inventory transactions and transfers are complete and accurate
Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
Responsible for creating and updating internal policies and appropriate processes thereon.
Assist in the coordination of SOX compliance documentation and testing.
Other ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
BA/BS with a major in Accounting.
In depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
4+ years total experience; pharmaceutical industry experience a plus.
Experience supporting and maintaining GL and report writing software.
Proven attention to detail, strong organizational skills, an ability to provide professional customer service to internal and external customers alike.
Ability to interact with co-workers and various levels of management needed.
Enjoy working in a fast paced, high volume environment with the ability to meet deadlines.
