The Hematology Technicians are responsible for performing the hematology testing for all of our once in a lifetime cordblood samples.
Trained at all Hematology workstations; Hemo Prep, Sysmex, Provue, BacTAlert and manual ABO/Rh
Performs preventive maintenance, periodic inspections and testing for proper equipment operation
Assists with writing and revising operating procedures
Maintains quality records, forms, work orders and notebooks
Prepares reagents and buffers according to written procedures
Education and Training
Bachelor of Science degree in a Lab Science or
MLT with national accreditation and/or 2 years? experience in various fields of the clinical laboratory.
Ability to perform tasks repetitively while maintaining attention to detail
Able to work weekends; flexible to work holidays if necessary
Able to adapt quickly to an ever changing environment
Enthusiastic about working in a positive team atmosphere
Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrate accurate computer input and retrieval skills
Ability to review paperwork for accuracy and completeness and compliance with applicable standards and regulation
Passionate about contributing to a quality system
Criminal background and drug screening are a condition of employment.
