The Precyse Solutions On-site Director/Project Manager manages the health information management functions of the outsourced account and ensures high quality, cost effective, customer-focused service. Duties include management of staff and acting as a liaison with client departments and the corporate office. Position functions as Project Manager within client organization reporting to the Assistant Director of HIM Services. Responsible for meeting client Service Level Agreements and managing multimillion dollar account.
Develops and implements plans to meet/exceed ongoing Service Level commitments at Client site.
Monitors client deliverables, exception reports and contractual obligations on a consistent basis.
Manages the day to day operations of HIM at multiple locations and reports issues to appropriate staff and Client as necessary.
Ensures all job responsibilities are covered in absence of other staff.
Implements new initiatives in line with Client HIMS goals and objectives.
Authorizes and coordinates payroll.
Participates on all assigned committees deemed appropriate by organization and Client.
Monitors quality and productivity of staff including identifying quality reviews for staff.
Directs leadership team and manages staff which includes counseling, conducting performance appraisals, interviewing, hiring, etc.
Assists with vendor selection for HIM department identified needs.
Prepares and ensures compliance with annual Precyse budget and direct margin/EBITDA goals.
Coordinates special projects for HIMS including scope development and reporting metrics.
Provides instruction to staff and students as necessary.
Provides reports to client and corporate office on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Prepares weekly operational reports and dashboard.
Leads quarterly client steering committee and ensures accurate presentation preparation.
Mentors and manages supervisory team.
Maintains personal and professional education and growth.
Develops strategic/tactical plans for the HIMS Department in conjunction with Client HIMS Leadership.
Writes and updates policies and procedures as needed, no less than annually.
Ensures compliance with state and JC regulations.
Reports ongoing medical record review activities to appropriate committees.
Assesses staff educational needs and plans appropriate methods to meet development needs.
Provides affiliation student education and opportunities for HIM technology programs.
Keeps abreast of new legislation and regulations that affect HIM.
Maintains strict physician and patient confidentiality. Assures compliance with Precyse and HIPAA Compliance and Privacy Policies.
Follows state, federal and hospital guidelines for the release of information.
Assists with monthly invoice process by completing a monthly report that reflects the Service Level Agreements compliance.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
RHIA or RHIT with a Bachelors Degree in a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years experience as a Director of Health Information Management at a large multi-site organization with teaching, university and/or clinic expertise.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must display strong interpersonal and excellent problem solving skills to work with Client HIMS
Management and Precyse Solutions staff, in addition to all levels of internal and external customers, to implement positive/effective change.
Established knowledge of computer technology and automated system designed for HIM.
Demonstrated customer-oriented management style.
Computer knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
High-level, HIM skills required with strategic vision and business acumen, vendor/relationship management experience. (Preferred)
Hands on experience and knowledge of EPIC HIS.
Ability to present information to ?C? level effectively.
