Description:The HIS Specialist is responsible for overall client success and happiness, specifically related to the integration and configuration of Passport?s software platform, focusing on optimization of all Passport products designed for Epic, including existing and future integration.
The HIS Specialist performs duties in the day-to-day activities of all areas of account and project management with the goal of delivering valuable results for customers and ensure long-term happiness.
The HIS Specialist is also responsible for managing internal and external requests to satisfy client needs through the use of Passport?s products and enhance Passport?s value in the market. Additionally, the HIS Specialist also functions as a technical business process consultant and provides on-site and remote assistance for prospective and existing clients.
Duties:Product Design/Development/Management
?Serve as an advisor and leader for Passport?s Epic Suite product initiatives. Drive pre-production business analysis and product development, including performing analysis, creating technical interface specifications, and troubleshooting problems within existing interface threads.
?Perform gap analysis between current product functionality and business needs and define solutions to gaps. Participate in pre-production business analysis and product development.
Client Relationships and Account Management
?Manage client needs, monitor client payer utilization, and target needed payers for development.
?Assist in the marketing and communication strategies to key client contacts and coordinate marketing plans with Marketing and Business Development staff. Participate in managing the client participation of user group meetings, lunch and learn sessions, and coordinate, schedule, and organize educational and promotional events with Marketing staff. Coordinate the development of client case studies and ROI analyses with Marketing staff.
?Secure client contacts across multi-departments within the client facilities to insure overall client satisfaction.
?Maintain and update all client communications, activities, issues and correspondence in database on a regular and consistent basis.
?Triage client issues occurring before, during, and after the implementation process; provide ongoing consultation by analyzing issues, aligning resources, and facilitating resolutions; may be assigned overall project and account management responsibility. Analyze and facilitate resolution of complex issues from internal and external clients
?Understand the customer?s business process and how Passport products support, enhance, and facilitate those processes.
Communicate with marketing team to ensure product functionality is translated into user stories.
?Collaborate intimately with Implementation, Sales, and Account Management to support and guide existing and prospective clients on or transitioning to Epic. Conduct remote and onsite presentations as needed.
Other Duties as Required.
Qualifications:?Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics or related field or study.
?3-5 years project management experience, leading full life cycle implementations.
?Healthcare industry experience facilitating in-depth knowledge of hospital operations data flow and HL7, X12 and XML protocol standards.
?Epic experience required.
?Masters Degree preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
?Demonstrated ability to engage in and complete multiple concurrent assignments.
?Fundamental knowledge of network architecture, services, redundancy and clustering.
?Ability to analyze and troubleshoot interface problems using on-line integration tools and utilities.
?Ability to relate technical interface requirements with both technical and non-technical audiences.
?Must be able to function in a complex, agile, fast-moving workplace and adapt to a changing environment.
?Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages.
?Superior collaboration and interpersonal communication skills, flexibility and responsiveness.
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
?Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
PMP a plus.
