Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) is a recognized leader in providing full-service simulation-based process and outcomes improvement services to hospital personnel, medical product manufacturers and medical societies. MSC provides these services worldwide.
This position oversees the Quality Initiatives operations and planning for MSC, a national enterprise focused on providing process and outcome improvement tools which advance care delivery by reducing patient errors and hospital operating costs. This position is responsible for the development and successful execution of the business and operating plans for the enterprise.
The HQI business unit provides simulation-based programs that help healthcare professionals learn and develop the skills and knowledge needed for hospitals to meet or exceed national quality and patient safety benchmarks. These programs, which cover a range of clinical practice areas and disease processes, are developed in collaboration with expert physicians and nurses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to MSC?s efforts to become a recognized national leader for the development and delivery of simulation-based services to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of care delivery
Help establish MSC as a ?partner of choice? throughout the healthcare industry for the development and execution conduct of programs and services to improve healthcare quality and cost effectiveness
Grow HQI in a manner that creates value and achieves balance across dimensions that are critical to success (investment risk and return, revenue/profit generation, allocation of resources, etc.)
Serve as the primary contact for industry-wide HQI communication
Oversee the successful launch of pilot programs for HQI
Ensure execution of all business and project plans, incorporating defined performance metrics needed to monitor progress on an on-going basis
Develop and effectively energize key relationships within MSC that are critical to the overall support and success of HQI.
Continue to develop and refine a varied portfolio of initiatives that span the healthcare provider delivery spectrum in partnership with internal resources or, where appropriate, with credible and respected external organizations.
Help to create and deliver a comprehensive internal and external marketing and communications plan for HQI and its products/services
Professional Experience:
The successful candidate will have developed an in-depth understanding of how healthcare is delivered and may have done so from a variety of perspectives. These might include time in healthcare delivery or managed care organizations.
The successful candidate may also have consulted in change management, process improvement or other kinds of organizations that focus on the adoption of change within healthcare. Because the background and experience can be varied, much will depend on the specific characteristics of the individual. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to influence and manage multiple internal and external constituencies. He/she will have worked in matrix organizations where making the case for new programs/approaches has been as important as direct authority.
The successful candidate will have passion for healthcare and the need for novel approaches to improving care cost and quality. He/she must believe that the role is a key opportunity for advancing not only MSC, but healthcare in general.
