Jive Software is looking for a dynamic Performance Engineer to join our team. The Performance Engineer will be part of a team developing growth models for scaling, managing and reporting on trends, identifying problem areas and developing remediation plans and recommendations to optimize the environment and customer installations. Jive?s environment is a rapidly growing, highly virtualized, multi-tier architecture. The position requires an individual with a strong overall knowledge of IT logical and technical architecture principles but with a particular focus on scalable and robust virtualized environments.
Responsibilities:
Develop regular performance reports and metrics using a variety of tools as inputs
Monitor key business projects and related capacity and performance drivers in order to anticipate and plan for hardware, storage and software upgrades.
Work closely with team members throughout the organization to diagnose issues and develop recommendations for performance improvements
Use analytical modeling for capacity planning, growth and scalability projections
Provide training and documentation on capacity and performance optimization
Conduct software/hardware analysis as necessary to assess workload performance impacts and capacity growth
Requirements:
A BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or equivalent experience
5 ? 7 + years of demonstrated technical experience (systems and networking)
Strong understanding of virtualization and storage technologies (VMware and NetApp preferred)
Experience with monitoring tools (Zenoss, OnCommand)
Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, Ruby, SQL)
Excellent written and oral skills
