GMI is seeking a dynamic, upbeat and professional Human Resources Business Partner to provide support to our North American business unit. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for employee relations, organizational development and performance management for our geographically dispersed employee base and will serve as an integral member of a business team charged with full P&L performance. The HR Business Partner will ensure sound execution of HR practices and policies through personal accountability and intervention.
Actively partner with management to ensure alignment of people strategies with business initiatives.
Understand and support the business planning and budgeting process.
Assist the regional HR Manager with the annual Performance Management Review (PMR).
Work with regional Managers to ensure that compensation links to performance and talent management.
Advise and counsel regional managers on HR issues at the mid-level and below.
Implement and manage policies and programs covering employment on a regional basis.
Maintain current knowledge of all HR regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments. and applicable laws. Compliance with and enforcement of all legislative requirements.
Support the identification of talent key to business growth.
Support retention programs specific to high level performers.
Identify and manage specific learning and development opportunities to grow talent.
Assist in the attraction and selection for roles at mid-level and below that match the organizational capabilities.
Coordinate the annual employee survey as a key measure of the Regional People strategy, ensuring it is a platform for improvement.
Degree in business or Human Resources Management and a minimum of 6-8+ years of increasingly responsible hands-on generalist experience
Primary focus of experience should be in employee relations, change management, organizational development and training, compensation and benefits
In-depth knowledge of HR practices and principles is required.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent judgment, attention to detail, discretion
Ability to translate the strategic vision and manage implementation.
Consultative and tactful approach in working with all levels of employees
Experience with change implementation
Proven conflict resolution skills
Strong IT/Systems proficiency
Must be able to work autonomously and have the ability to problem solve
