New Relic is seeking a seasoned HR pro to take a key role as the HR Business Partner in our "Intergalactic Development Headquarters" (aka Engineering Ops in Portland). This is our first HR hire in Portland and the right candidate will have solid experience in a broad range of HR disciplines - especially performance management, leadership development, and employee relations.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with a bias for action. S/he is able to build high-trust partnerships with management and employees, and has a passion for world-class HR programs and processes. The person will work closely with engineering management on employment and staffing issues, and will also be part of the global HR team, working on corporate programs in employee relations and leadership development.
This person will report to the VP, People Operations and will work with him to:
--Partner with engineering management to facilitate achievement of their organizational priorities and change initiatives
--Advise on HR policies and processes, HRIS, benefits, and compensation structure
--Partner with recruiting team on talent acquisition to scale the business
--Ensure proactive employee relations including coaching managers, addressing performance issues, and providing counsel to employees
--Design and conduct leadership development programs that build organizational capacity
--5+ years of progressive experience in HR
--Experience working in an fast-paced, engineering culture
--Collaborative, driven, and self-reliant
--Experience navigating conflicting priorities and stakeholders
--Strong business acumen, including strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
--Experience leading innovative HR projects
--A bachelor's degree in business, HR or a related field
--Experience in an agile, software environment
--PHR or SPHR
