Human Resources, Business Partner, Commercial Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Aegerion Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to help the U.S. Commercial team build an exceptional culture and high performing workforce. The HR Business Partner plays a critical role in building Commercial capability, cultivating talent, and fostering a respectful and supportive culture that optimizes capabilities of the team. This role will advise managers and employees on strategic and tactical HR issues and ensures that each group?s unique needs are reflected in the delivery of HR leadership, processes, tools and services. This role will provide strong HR leadership, development and strategic guidance and requires strong strategic, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills and an ability to influence, motivate, and communicate effectively with individuals at every level of the company.
Acts as an internal consultant to the U.S. Commercial department by establishing trust and credibility with leaders as a valuable sounding board on organizational and talent issues. Maintains a thorough understanding of each group?s direction and identifies opportunities to contribute to enhancing the group?s capabilities and creation of an industry-transforming sales and marketing organization.
Provides guidance and advice to managers and leaders on talent management issues and their impact on performance, morale and organization effectiveness; determines root causes to issues and recommends appropriate plans to optimize talent, structure and culture. Serves as a coach to develop leaders and managers skills and competencies.
As a key driver of our high performance culture, the HR Business Partner ensures that managers and employees understand and participate in the performance management and development program. Additionally, the HR Partner facilitates the annual review process, inclusive of individual development plans, career development and mentoring. Coaches employees and managers on the process of resolving and/or addressing performance gaps.
Provide guidance on, and help conduct, the investigation of complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications or organization exposure; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate action based on established practice;
In partnership with Compensation, consult with managers on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluations, including designing and creating solutions to specific compensation related problems/needs;
Identify, develop, and deliver training programs aligned with the needs of the employees, Groups/Teams, and the overall Aegerion development strategy.
Collaborates with assigned groups to identify workforce planning and staffing needs. Partners with recruiting team to develop recruitment strategy for open positions, including defining job position needs and critical competencies. Initiate planning and execution of staffing needs, development of job description, salary range, group re-structuring, etc.
Interprets and implements HR policies and procedures for managers, teams and employees. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in the value of HR services and programs.
Works across HR team to proactively evaluate new programs and services; drives the creation, development and roll out of new programs that are designed to meet the changing needs the organization.
Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement;
Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participate in functional and cross functional initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in business administration, HR management or related field preferred;
10 + years? experience in HR Generalist or Business Partner role or management within biotech/Pharma Industry required;
Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy;
Ability to develop and deliver relevant, effective training programs;
Ability to develop clear, actionable steps to support the overall business strategy;
Effective team player and collaborator across HR Function and overall company;
Strong Project Management skills;
Strong and effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills;
Knowledge of employment law and government compliance regulations including visa processing and regulations.
Must be flexible, resourceful, and organized to work in a multi-functional role and to deliver on commitments.
