ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST 3
Addresses issues related to employee performance and conduct. Leads internal investigations in areas such as sexual harassment, discrimination, workplace violence. Counsels employees and managers to facilitate complaint adjudication. Consults with managers prior to involuntary terminations. May represent Company at hearings. Keeps manager informed on employee relations issues.
Consults with local management on various topics such as organizational structure and strategic planning matters.
Compiles statistical data and consults with local management for local salary administration purposes and other functional areas, as directed. Provides guidance as needed to managers in the performance appraisal process. Prepares Employee Status Change Forms. Assists in creating job descriptions for new positions.
Administers leave programs, including all notification requirements, tracking, etc., for FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.
Answers escalated personnel inquiries on policy, practice and procedure.
Understands and ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements, internal policies, and laws.
Assists managers in hiring process. May recruit, interview, makes recommendations for selection of potential employees. Consults with hiring manager regarding new hire compensation package. Follows and administers Company?s Recruiting Guidelines.
Maintains familiarity with the Company?s Affirmative Action Plan. Monitors the Company?s progress relative to its Affirmative Action Plan. Assists managers in understanding obligations and goals. Ensures adequate records are maintained. Facilitates communication of Plan to appropriate outside parties. Handles compliance audits.
Works with managers on ADA issues and considerations.
Assists managers in assessing employee training and professional development needs. Identify and obtain resources as applicable.
Performs new hire orientations and conducts exit interviews.
May be involved with administration of the Company?s Substance Abuse Program.
Prepares special reports and performs analyses, as directed.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Six years related experience in human resources.
Certification in HR preferred.

Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and using data to inform and set priorities and identify challenges/opportunities. Knowledge of JD Edwards, or other HRIS system.
