The Human Resources Manager consults with business partners to provide human resource services to all employees in the Company?s East Providence Rhode Island facility which includes responsibility for management/oversight of all on-site employee relations, staffing, HR policy administration, training design/delivery, compensation & benefits administration and performance management activities for the East Providence facility. Reporting to the VP.of Human Resources, this position manages senior-level Staffing Specialist and an Office Professional.
?Partners and consults with functional management teams regarding business strategies and provides innovative approaches to solving business issues, seeking for mutual consensus to drive results.
?Actively addresses employee relations matters by building respectful relationships, conducting equitable, fact-finding investigations and listening to create an environment where issues transition to solutions in support of business needs.
?In conjunction with Plant Manager, actively coordinates and participates in local leadership meetings as a business partner to drive results and/or improvements.
?Plans, organizes and guides activities of the local HR function. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and/or systems.
?Oversees the recruitment function for all onsite staffing needs (full time and temporary staffing) to ensure recruitment and selection process produces timely, qualified candidates according to business needs and affirmative action commitments.
?Recommend and implement upgrades to personnel policies, procedures and Employee Handbook; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures;
?Works with Corporate HR in performing benefits administration to include claims resolution for site employees.
?Assist with the administrating of the company?s compensation program; updating job descriptions, reviews internal equity and makes recommendations, monitors/leads performance management process. When necessary, conducts salary surveys and assists with developing merit pools.
?Oversee the onboarding process with HR team, ensuring new employee orientation is conducted and continuously improved to meet employee and business needs.
?Recommends and/or conducts training for employee population on topics relating to soft skills, management practices and other human resource topics.
?Manages Workers Compensation claims for employee injuries which includes reporting of claims to insurance carrier and ongoing communication with carrier and injured employees through return to work. Works closely with Safety and plant leadership in aggressive case management to return employees to work as quickly as possible of mutual benefits.
?Follows state, federal requirements and recognized corporate procedures for maintaining accurate employee records.
?Point-of-contact for external agencies/resources involving employee matters, elevating to appropriate resources as needed.
?Works and consults with Corporate HR Team on HR initiatives including benefits administration, compliance reporting, policies and procedures, employee recognition and training.

?BA/BS Degree and/or equivalent experience in a similar position.
?8-10 years professional HR experience.
?Knowledgeable of applicable employment laws and human resource practices including compensation, performance management, recruiting and selection, employee relations and HRIS.
?Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment, or at least a manufacturing environment, very strongly preferred.
?Bi-Lingual: English and either Spanish or Portuguese strongly preferred.
