THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Job Purpose:
This position plans and carries out policies and procedures relating to all phases of Human Resources activity.
Works closely and proactively with Group Human Resources Manager to develop human resources strategies and programs that address the organization?s needs.
Answers personnel inquiries on policy, practice and procedure.
Assists in addressing employee performance issues and internal investigations. Counsels employees and managers to facilitate complaint adjudication. Consults with managers prior to involuntary terminations. May represent Company at hearings. Keeps manager informed on employee relations issues.
Provides guidance as needed to managers in the performance appraisal and competency assessment process. Assists managers in assessing employee training and professional development needs. Identify and obtain resources as applicable.
Administers federal, state, and local leave programs, including all notification requirements. Works with managers on ADA issues and considerations.
Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, laws, and Company policies as they relate to Human Resources function. May include conducting self-audits.
Understands and ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements, internal policies, and laws.
Partners with hiring managers to identify and understand personnel needs, job specifications, duties, qualifications and skills necessary to recruit for the position. Assists in creating job descriptions for new positions. May schedule and coordinate the logistics of interviews between candidates and hiring managers. Participates in interviews and makes recommendation for selection of potential employees.
Networks through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees to create a qualified passive candidate pool.
Maintains familiarity with the Company?s Affirmative Action Plan. Monitors the Company?s progress relative to its Affirmative Action Plan. Assists managers in understanding obligations and goals. Ensures adequate records are maintained. Facilitates communication of Plan to appropriate outside parties. Handles compliance audits.
Performs new hire orientations and conducts exit interviews.
Creates and maintains local records for personnel transactions and makes certain personnel files follow records guidelines and remain up-to-date.
Inputs and maintains a variety of HRIS data. Ensures appropriate audit trails exist for all input.
Prepares special reports and performs analyses, as directed.
Travels to multiple company locations.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis in human resources, labor studies, organizational development, or business; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of human resources theory and practice.
Certification in HR preferred.
Requires a minimum of 5 years related experience.
Expert knowledge of a human resources theory and practice, including highly technical knowledge of company procedures and policies.
Knowledge of HRIS system, desirable.
Valid drivers license.
