The Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator provides administrative support and coordination of HR programs including payroll, benefits, and recruitment, and directly contributes to the team?s ability to drive a high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, achievement, and professional development. The position reports to the HR Director.
Process all HRMS transactions (e.g., new hires, separations, job and status changes, and pay and benefit changes) to ensure accurate recordkeeping and proper deductions; audit and analyze data to ensure data integrity.
Support benefit plan administration of employee health, welfare, and retirement plans including processing enrollments, changes and terminations of coverage, reconciling monthly bills, and verifying benefit deductions.
Maintain timekeeping system to ensure accurate and timely reporting of hours, payment of wages, labor allocation codes, and time off accruals.
Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls and transactions (e.g., final, one-time and retroactive payments, overtime calculations, garnishments/levies and W-2s) in compliance with state and federal laws and company policies.
Work with Accounting Department to resolve transactions related to payroll (cash and journal entries) and tax recordkeeping, reporting, and payment.
Process COBRA QB information, and track elections and premium payments.
Maintain all HR and payroll records in compliance with applicable legal requirements and internal practices.
Provide decision support for management by conducting research, compiling data, and preparing reports.
Support the company?s recruitment process, including preparing, editing, and proofreading job descriptions, placing job advertisements, processing applications, responding to phone and email inquiries, processing background checks, preparing offer letters, and completing applicant flow logs.
Conduct new employee orientations.
Serve as HR point of contact for internal and external questions and requests.
Provide general administrative support for the Human Resources Department.
Bachelor?s degree in human resources, business, or related field and minimum 2 years of experience in human resources and/or payroll, or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Strong understanding of HR processes and data, and benefit eligibility and enrollment rules
Knowledge of state and federal personnel and payroll regulations, laws, and procedures
Proficient in a variety of computer software and web-based applications (Excel, Word, HRMS/payroll systems, internet job boards, and benefit vendor systems)
Strong organizational skills and ability to efficiently and accurately manage high volume of details
Excellent communication skills, including oral and written skills, editing and proofreading
Ability to compose routine business correspondence with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Ability to prioritize and adjust workload, manage a variety of tasks, and meet various deadlines with changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and conflicting deadlines
Ability to take initiative, anticipate and proactively address needs, and work with minimal supervision
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues and information with discretion and tact
Experience with ADP Workforce Now
Must be a US citizen or national, or have current authorization to work in the United States
