The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer in Training will be responsible for learning and training on Identity Management concepts and technologies. This training will be an education in gaining experience to learn how to advise clients on best fit technology, gather and document functional requirements, design technical architectures and processes, and implement IAM product components.
As an IAM Engineer in Training, you will be required to learn a designated technology through one or more of the following methods: Online, self-paced, hands-on, or a combination.
Further, the IAM Engineer in Training will be required to show proficiency and increased knowledge after an initial 30 day probationary period. By achieving proficiency and proving ability to meet ongoing learning requirements in the assigned technology, the IAM Engineer in Training will move into either additional training periods or project assignments as an IAM Engineer; as needed.
Key IAM Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Design, develop, and implement connectors and technical components for authentication, authorization, identity provisioning, audit & monitoring solutions
Designing and developing integration connectors and interfaces for cross IAM solutions
Enhancing and integrating existing access request and provisioning technologies to a variety of IAM solutions
Integrate role-based access control, Single Sign On, automatic and self-service user provisioning, and reconciliation services with existing applications, systems, and networked devices
Leading meetings with demanding clients in order to discover existing business processes, advise on best fit technologies, gather requirements, and drive to client satisfaction.
Critique developed business processes and use cases, translating them to technical requirements, designing provisioning/de- provisioning workflows, and data mappings.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
4 year degree in Computer Science or one of the natural sciences.
Self -Motivation to learn and accept guidance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of a compiled programming language (Java, C#, or VB.NET).
Working knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, Oracle, MySql) and the ability to write SQL if needed.
Exposure to one major LDAP technology (Sun LDAP, CA Directory, OpenLDAP) or Active Directory.
At least 1 year of previous work experience in a software, professional services or similar organization.
