Position Summary:
The role of the Image Processing Engineer is to be part of a collaborative team (as well as a highly creative individual contributor), who develops and evaluates 2D and 3D imaging solutions for operation with cutting edge long range 3D imaging sensor designed for biometric applications. The successful candidate will have strong research experience in image processing algorithm development and should be excited by solving challenging imaging problems, as well as be knowledgeable of the latest technology in the industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and implement Windows/Linux/Embedded software for future systems
Work with other engineers and scientists to develop and implement new and improved system capabilities
Develop and optimize image processing algorithms
Adapt and optimize R&D algorithms to production-quality software
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related field of studies with a minimum of 3 years related experience or a PhD in the designated disciplines
Demonstrated knowledge of advanced image processing and pattern recognition algorithms and methods
Programming experience in C++ and MATLAB
Ability to develop 3D image processing and computer vision algorithms
Ability to produce novel, but mathematically defensible, approaches to problems
Good communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively in teams and individually
Strong code optimization and debugging skills
Strong problem solving
Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance by the U.S. Government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Biometrics, face recognition in particular
Data fusion
Demonstrated knowledge of advanced video processing algorithms and methods
GPU programming
Multi-threading
Commercialization experience
Current publications in leading scientific journals
