About the role:
As an Image Quality Satellite Calibration Engineer at Skybox Imaging, you will join the team responsible for ensuring that Skybox captures the highest quality imagery and data from our cutting-edge space-based imaging platforms.
You will help plan and execute the post-launch calibration and validation of our imaging payloads including performing the real-time problem identification, anomaly detection, investigation and resolution. You will develop and operate analysis tools for consistent monitoring and improvement of our system?s image quality. Your work will involve a unique blend of research and data analysis, development of software tools, operational support, and cross-functional team coordination.
Skills and Experience:
M.S. or higher in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum of 3 years experience with design or testing electro-optical imaging systems, preferably for space systems
Deep understanding of radiative transfer, statistics, and image quality metrics
Proficiency in high-level scripting languages (Matlab & Python preferred).
Experience with satellite operations is desired.
Knowledge of orbital mechanics and space systems is preferred
