Implementation Consultant GT Nexus
The position's primary responsibility is working directly with customers to implement GT Nexus solutions. Implementation Consultants usually are key project resources working under a Project Manager on a specific customer engagement. Depending on project size and scope Implementation Consultants may work on a single project or be working on multiple projects at once. The Implementation Consultant may be asked to play the lead Project Manager role on some limited projects.
The Implementation Consultant position requires some travel generally during the kickoff and solution design stages, and again during the training and rollout phases of work. Required travel and on-site customer involvement will be directed by the Project Manager which the Consultant is assigned to work with as part of a customer implementation. The business process work streams are focused on international supply chain and transportation management; the technical work streams are focused on integrating message sets such as the Purchase Order, ASN, and Shipment Status events to / from the GT Nexus applications.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with customers executive sponsor to ensure that rationale/ value for project is clearly documented and agreement is reach on what success metrics will be used on the project
Drive day-to-day implementation work, leading design sessions, facilitating technical gap assessments for key integrated files and configuring (hands-on) the GT Nexus solutions
Work directly with customer end users and managing a hand-off to GT Nexus Support Team
Represent customers in internal GT Nexus discussions on product feature prioritization and resource allocation
Escalate issues that need additional focus/attention by management (both on Customer and GT Nexus side)
Work closely with our Products team to define future product requirements and prioritize enhancements
Collaborate with Engineering and Production Operations to support QA efforts and the migration of customer data
Manage a project work plan, communicating status on specific tasks and helping to drive issues to resolution
Job Requirements:
Two years experience working on software implementation projects, ideally related to supply chain/logistics/trade solutions
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and requires that the individual be able to lead specific work-streams of a project requiring either business process definition and/or technical work
Must be detail-oriented
Must have hands-on experience with some phases of software development
Comfortable in a customer-facing role, working directly with the customer's project team and taking direction from a GT Nexus Project Manager
Above all, qualified candidates will bring passion to their work, with a commitment to see defined tasks through to successful completion
Project Management Skills
Required
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large number of tasks at once as well as work successfully with all project resources
Effective problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems
Ability/interest in engaging in both technical and non-technical tasks (configuration, integration, training and rollout)
Previous implementation consulting experience proven ability to perform specific roles within a project
Preferred
Experience in the international transportation industry (Ocean/Air/Freight/3PL)
Implementation experience with Supply Chain Logistics software
A passion for the supply chain / logistics space and for deploying software solutions in a hosted business model to enable customers save millions of dollars
Technical Skills

References that can speak to candidate's performance and customer's satisfaction with his/her efforts and work completed
Proven ability to dive in and understand a complex software application at a level that goes beyond the application interface and gets to the inner workings of how the product is built and how integrated data is represented to the end users
Proven experience running / participating on software implementations for customers
Preferred
Familiarity of data/message formats with particular emphasis on EDI (ANSI X12 & UN/EDIFACT) and XML
Experience working with EDI messaging (EDI 850, 855, 856, 315, 214, 310, 210, 7501)
Educational Requirements
BA from accredited school
Postgraduate degree not required but is considered a plus
