Implementation Consultant - Software Configuration and Deployment
Fairfax, VA


The Implementation Consultant is part of the Professional Services organization responsible for delivery of Rivermine?s software and solutions to Fortune 1000 customers. You will be involved in all aspects of the software?s implementation lifecycle including: solution definition, requirements gathering, detailed design, software development and configuration, testing and deployment. This position requires strong customer facing skills as well as some knowledge of Java, SQL and Oracle to facilitate the configuration and delivery of our products.

Specific duties include:


Acquire detailed product knowledge of all Rivermine software modules to execute assigned project tasks for successful customer implementations
Work with the customers in developing best approaches to use Rivermine software as a means to accomplish their telecom expense management objectives
Work with customers to define configuration requirements as well as create supporting functional and detailed designs
Configure software and develop interfaces to external customer applications to meet business requirements
Strategize and convert inventory and invoice data from existing customer applications into the appropriate Rivermine modules
Test configured and/or developed functionality for customers
Troubleshoot application and implementation issues by taking ownership of questions, researching architectural, or application issues and provide appropriate solutions
Provide product feedback (customer requirements, product shortcomings, enhancements, etc.) to product management and/or engineering.

Requirements:


BS/MS in Information Technology or Computer Science; Java/J2ee Certification
6+ years application software implementation and/or IT consulting experience in applying technology to meet customer needs. 4+ years in working closely with customers in all stages of SDLC
Full life cycle application software implementation or development experience that includes large, complex package and/or custom software implementations with Fortune 1000 customers
Experience in developing or configuring applications using a variety of technologies including: Java, J2ee design patterns (Singleton), JavaScript, XML, database structure and queries, (Oracle, MySQL.SQL Server), and UNIX
Experienced in IBM technology stack, XML technologies, MVC architectures, WebServices, WebSphere, Eclipse, Hibernate
Experienced in batch applications and rules engine development (ILOG Rules)
Excellent customer facing skills are required to help manage and facilitate the development and delivery of our products
Experience working with client business process owners is highly desirable
Strong oral presentation, written communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
Self starter with a proved track record of success. Solid team player with a positive attitude and a record of consistent follow through on commitments.
Availability for overnight travel (approx 10%)
