BlackArrow is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated implementation / deployment engineer to manage strategic customer deployments of its multiplatform dynamic advertising solution. This candidate must have the ability to coordinate complex customer-facing deployment projects from start-to-finish, excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced startup environment. As Implementation / Deployment Engineer, you will be responsible for projects that have significant impact to BlackArrow and for advancing customer success within the dynamic video advertising marketplace.Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Ensure customer success by coordinating and executing deployment of the BlackArrow product suite within cable and broadband technical environments; documenting and communicating clear project objectives and customer requirements based on sound business and workflow analysis; and coordinating interaction with all stakeholders at each step of the deployment process throughout the complete project life-cycle.
Coordinate all aspects of enterprise software deployment including planning, installation, configuration, testing, training, tracking and documentation.
Work closely with project stakeholders to identify and document core project objectives, custom requirements, data requirements, business workflows and technical infrastructures.
Develop clear, concise statements of work that identify unique customer requirements and additional product features.
Schedule installation of base networking, hardware and software components within data center, laboratory and other client facilities.
Perform detailed product and technical configuration including account setup, user setup, contract setup, data ingest, SCTE130 integration and other tasks according to defined project requirements.
Verify proper end-to-end system performance using Windows and Unix-based software tools including database queries, test harnesses, web debugging utilities, scripting languages and network utilities.
Develop custom shell scripts, SQL queries and other custom integration code as required for the implementation.
Coordinate and facilitate all customer training efforts including onsite presentations and remote web-based presentations.
Act as a liaison among various BlackArrow teams when resolving customer technical issues, product questions and other types of general inquires.
Support the sales process both directly and indirectly via direct customer contact, participation in sales calls as the ?Implementation Expert?, by creation of presentations, whitepapers and other sales collateral.
Knowledge & Skills
The ideal candidate should have professional work experience in coordinating large-scale software deployment projects within cable and broadband environments. This position requires experience installing and configuring enterprise software within various types of media industry environments including broadcast television, cable television and broadband; knowledge of cable processing and broadband technologies, work flows and business processes; and outstanding organizational, communications and problem-solving skills.
Experience executing the deployment of enterprise application software in conjunction with excellent organizational and management skills to oversee simultaneous, complex, and long-duration projects from start to finish.
Proven experience working with extremely tight deadlines in order to meet aggressive implementation schedules.
Ability to concisely summarize complex issues and to make clear, compelling recommendations.
Requires knowledge of cable-based standards including SCTE 130, SCTE 35, ADI, SaFI CIP, CTAM, EBIF and other protocols. Experience with broadband advertising standards such as IAB VAST is a plus.
Requires knowledge of the workflows, processes and technology involved in delivering VOD programming and advertising from broadcast networks to cable plants and out to the home.
Requires knowledge of the manner in which advertising is sold, produced, managed and distributed across linear television, on-demand television and broadband properties. Experience with addressable advertising is a plus.
Experience with web-based dynamic advertising platforms and technologies a plus.
Experience with video content delivery networks and technologies a plus.
Requires knowledge of Unix command-line syntax, shell scripts, text editors, system utilities and other standard Unix tools.
Requires understanding of HTTP, XML, HTML and other computer-based protocols.
Requires the ability to write and execute basic SQL commands.
3 ? 5 years of software product deployment responsibility or equivalent with demonstrated success installing multiple instances of commercially available products is strongly desired.
Requires BA/BS, or equivalent experience.
