The Technical Services team is responsible for the Implementation and technical support, and maintenance of all Bazaarvoice web applications. The Implementation Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple concurrent implementation projects, coordinating both client and internal project teams through a quick deployment process. Our solutions are easy for our clients? development teams to integrate and therefore projects are smaller in scope and move quickly. The ideal IPM thrives in a fast-moving environment with excellent multi-tasking skills and attention to detail and quality.
To be a strong IPM at Bazaarvoice, you must be a talented leader with the ability to execute well under pressure. Good decision-making skills around scope, time, and resources are necessary for success in this role. Your contacts will range from a business and technical audience, from analyst to executive; you must be comfortable communicating at all levels. Strong presentation skills are necessary, which is why we include a presentation round in our interview process.
We?ve posted this job title as ?Technical Project Manager? in the past to attract the right type of candidate. The ideal IPM has a technical education or past development experience. Our IPM?s don?t code, but interface heavily with internal and client developers and need to speak their language.
Last but not least ? be able to sell. IPM?s work closely with our sales team to help our customers understand and scope our implementation prior to closing the account. We also have a number of best practices and recommendations that you will find yourself pitching during the implementation process.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
The ideal IPM has experience managing or playing a lead client-facing role in multiple technology integration engagements and meets most or all of the following requirements:
BA/BS degree required.
Internet Software/E-commerce industry experience preferred.
5+ years software implementation project management experience.
Ability to interface well with customers, internal and external to the organization (phone/email).
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, SQL, and other web technologies. Expert knowledge not necessary, but you must be able to communicate well with developers on these technologies.
Knowledge of SQL and database design concepts (MySQL experience a plus)
Attention to detail and absolute focus on quality of work
Strong presentation, meeting facilitation, and written communication skills.
Driven to execute with quality of service and demonstrates passion, energy and a collaborative work ethic.
