The Level 1 Technical Consultant is responsible for working with various Professional Services (PS) and business partners to design business pathways through SciQuest?s software that delivers recognizable business value. Working on multiple projects, this person provides appropriate solutions by participating in project definition and prioritization, validating requirements, determining solution alternatives, creating conceptual designs, and facilitating requirements traceability. He/she adds tangible and measurable value to projects by helping drive them to successful completion through promoting excellent analysis & design practices, leveraging existing investments in technology and application capabilities, and conforming to IT standards, strategies, policies and guiding principles as provided by the PS group.
? Participate in definition, design, and review of software configurations, design, and interfaces onsite at client locations worldwide.
? Integrate and test software to confirm compliance with specifications.
? Support field trials by troubleshooting software at customer sites.
? Lead client design sessions regarding implementation of a contract management solution into client sites.
? Document client configurations for construction by technical analysts.
? Deliver best practice advice and analysis for new clients.
? Activities will span all phases of product implementation including requirements, design, implementation, validation and release.
? Partner with Technical Consultants to conduct project investigation (examines feasibility; validate requirements; contribute to budget estimates and recommend next steps).
? A College or University degree is preferred
? 5-7 years software implementation experience in progressive analysis and design related positions;
? Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to customers' business needs.
? Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
? Demonstrated ability to influence executives, key decision-makers, and highly technical resources.
? Demonstrated ability to apply business case development and project justification techniques to varying information technology related questions.
? Detail oriented and organized; ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines.
? Highly motivated with a desire to be successful.
? Understanding of Project Management is an asset.
? Demonstrated knowledge and experience with large corporate IT operations, major IT programs, systems integration and technical architecture at Enterprise and inter-enterprise levels.
? Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions.
? Demonstrated ability to take initiative and accountability for achieving results.
? Demonstrated experience with the contracting lifecycle or contract negotiations is desirable.
? Experiences in preparing business cases and written requirements.
? Flexible to travel up to 15% of the time (ability to travel worldwide)
