Indoor Design and Equipment Engineer ExteNet Systems
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Position Summary
The primary area of focus for the Equipment Engineer will be to create and deliver project specific RF component design and engineering documents in support of ExteNet?s ongoing portfolio of distributed network deployment projects. This position will concentrate on the RF elements of a system, including, but limited to active DAS and RRH components, passive RF distribution components and antennas.
Primary inputs to this position will be a system level design and major component selection created by ExteNet RF engineers, along with mechanical and architectural environment information from outside plant and facility design engineers.
Reports to: RF Manager
Create bills of material for design proposals and for final purchase of equipment for networks under construction
Track inventory of existing unallocated hardware for utilization in new networks
Create end-to-end wiring diagrams and/or wiring lists for reference to customers and to installers for proper equipment installation
Track repeated failures of components for feedback to manufacturers and to Product Development
Create test plans for testing new component hardware in new networks to validate performance and specifications
Direct the creation of floor plan, bay profile, and supporting mechanical drawings as needed to convey project scope to construction personnel.
Compile drawings, bills of materials, test plans and other documents as needed into a comprehensive design package for delivery to the Implementation organization.
Review as-built changes presented at the end of a project and approve changes or redirect construction personnel as needed to ensure a quality installation.
Support the development of project close-out packages including but not limited to as-built drawings, bills of materials, equipment specification documentation, etc. Approve the final versions prior to submission to company archives and/or customers.
Possess in-depth experience with designing and provisioning wireless indoor and outdoor networks (passive and active distribution)
Understand radio wave propagation theory
Understand differentiators between CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, EDGE, GPRS, TDMA, iDEN, WiFi, WiMax, LTE and other protocols
Become conversant with new technology and software quickly
Present problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to find non-standard solutions
Possess working knowledge of radio planning, optimization and technologies (2G, 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G, 4G)
Manage and prioritize assigned tasks in order to meet deadlines while also highlighting risks and implementing contingency plans
Hold the highest standards of integrity in all dealings with internal and external customers
Thrive under pressure and possesses a sense of urgency about their projects
Bring an electrical/mechanical aptitude and continuous improvement philosophy to the organization
Demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and creativity while making major contributions towards the continuing success of ExteNet Systems Inc
Have excellent English verbal and written communications skills
Be willing to travel, often times with short notice
Education: BSEE (MSEE preferred)
5 years wireless design experience (component hardware engineering preferred)
Possess in-depth knowledge in radio frequency components, RF hardware, original equipment manufacturers, etc.
Demonstrated Proficiency using iBwave, Visio and/or AutoCAD LT
