The Industrial Engineer develops, maintains, and implements engineered labor standards and an engineered labor model that is used to effectively determine and allocate the labor investment at all pharmacies within the Remedi network. They will apply their operational experience, along with certified industrial engineering principals and tools in the creation of labor standards, and the analysis of best practices. He/she will be integral to enabling a time management system and maintaining the standards within that system. This role also supports the organization by serving as a labor subject matter expert on pharmacy processes and initiatives, especially thru the identification of the process / cost impacts of proposed changes. Lastly, the pharmacy laborstandards engineer also identifies models, analyzes and recommends process improvements which will improve labor efficiency within the pharmacy or activities that occur outside the pharmacy.
Responsibilites
Develop, manage and maintain engineered labor standards, at the appropriate level of detail, for the creation of an enterprise wide labor model used for the development of labor budgets by year, period, and week
Develop, manage and maintain engineered labor standards, at the appropriate level of detail, for the creation of an enterprise wide labor model used for the development of labor budgets by year, period, and week and the scheduling of workload requirements by day and time of the day within the organizations labor scheduling system(s).
Support and enhance the organization?s labor budgeting process and strategic labor plans.
Support the identification, development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to drive cost savings initiatives across multiple / all corporate banners.
Provide expertise for the use of labor management applications (Kronos Workforce Central, Maynard Standards Pro, MOST, etc.)
Maintain, monitor, and re-enforce the work discipline of 5-S / Best Methods to foster a workplace culture receptive to ongoing improvements and to maintain a workplace context for repeatable, standard based work performance.
Support pharmacy operations thru the identification of cost impacts related to proposed process, system, initiative changes within the organization.
Serve as subject matter expert for topics, discussions, and projects related to labor utilization, labor cost and productivity
Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements:
An education background in Industrial Engineering or similar accredited engineering discipline is preferred, but not required if candidate can demonstrate applicable work experience that meets job requirements.
Three or more years in progressively responsible engineering or management roles which may include co-op experience.
Successful experience in developing and applying time standards in automated manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
Expertise in using labor management and scheduling tools
Ability to teach industrial engineering systems and techniques with emphasis on improving productivity, service, and quality in an operational environment
Professional certification in Labor Standards design, Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience is a plus.
Exceptional communications, presentation, and influencing skills
