JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
We are seeking a degreed Industrial Engineer at our operations center in the Hanahan, SC community
Work Functions May Include:
Facility Design/Equipment Specifications
Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product dimensional profiles, product flow and transportation methods
Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions
Identify and specify use of automation where justified
Identify office equipment and facility up fit requirements
Create equipment and operating supply lists and provide purchase requisitions
Develop IT equipment (hardware & cabling) requirements based on activity levels and work content
Manpower Planning
Identify tasks required to complete proposed work content
Complete task time studies and engineering estimates
Determine startup and ongoing personnel requirements based on work tasks, activity levels and product dimensional profiles
Identify management and supervisory staffing requirements based on technical requirements of work required
Identify technical skills and education levels required by job classification
Provide job descriptions, shift requirements, and manpower level to HR for hiring
Employee Training
Develop training plans and train local distribution center employees using process work instructions
Coordinate safety, environmental, equipment, and process training requirements with HR, Compliance, and Safety Mgr
Process Development and Documentation
Select the correct process models for receipt, putaway, picking and packing solutions
Identifying storage and picking strategies based on product dimensional profiles and activity levels
Convert Contract Documents, Proposals and Statement of Work into Work Instructions and Operating Procedures
Submit ISO compliant work instruction and standard operating procedure documents to Quality Management System
Packaging Requirements and Specifications
Determine packaging/kitting requirements based on mode/method of transportation and product dimensional profile
Specify and document packaging methods
Specify and purchase packaging equipment
Specify and Purchase containers/cartons and packing (void fill) to support cartonization functionality and product dimensional profile
Identify outbound labeling/documentation requirements
Provide annual cost estimates for packing materials
Create EXE cartonization table logic
Project Scheduling and Management
Plan new client, facility, and process implementations
Create implementation schedules using Microsoft Project
Determine time estimates to develop, document, and implement existing and new processes
Determine time estimates for implementing existing and new IT solutions
Determine time estimates to specify, purchase, build, and install capital equipment, IT equipment, operational supplies, etc.
Publish and update startup/implementation plans with key milestones, assigned responsibilities, and completion dates
Demonstrate the ability to accomplish scheduled project milestones and completion dates personally and through managing and coordinating others efforts
