Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking to provide an Industrial Engineering Student, to join our growing team in Mississippi. This position requires an action and results oriented individual who can effectively achieve demanding development and production goals. This individual must also be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
Job Qualifications (basic job description):
Under direction of the Product Engineering Manager, will be assisting with industrial engineering projects to improve operations and establishing additional capabilities, including: profitability, facility design utilizing FlexSim, material handling equipment specification, labor management, staff planning, project management and continuous improvement
Specific Responsibilities:
Will assist in the preparation of project cost justifications, work standards, plant layout, process flow, and work station layouts. Also assists in the implementation of lean strategies and capacity analysis.
Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, application of work methods and time study techniques, work and production balancing, man-machine analysis, product flow, and economic analysis.
Helps engineers make observations of production operations, record data and statistically analyze data.
Helps engineers write standard practices, elemental breakdowns, standard operating procedures, training and operation manuals.
Helps engineers design, write and implement work standards.
May help engineers prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to production and management employees, customer and vendors.

Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s Degree in Industrial Engineering from a 4 year college or university and consider a 2nd term Junior or above
Minimum of 3.0 overall grade point average
Experience utilizing FlexSim Simulation software.
Previous internship or Co-op experience preferred
Experience with Auto CAD preferred
PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, reports, procedures and governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively communicate process and technical concepts to a variety of audiences from entry level employee to executive level
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Physical Requirements:
Able to work in a manufacturing environment
Shift Requirements (specify if irregular work hours or shift work will be required):
1st shift with flexibility to work extend hours or other shifts as needed
