ABOUT THE TEAM
The ExactTarget IT Security team is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of IT security solutions, policies, and procedures, as well as conducting internal audits, technology risk assessments, incident response / forensics, and providing subject matter expertise to both IT and our business customers.

INFORMATION SECURITY COMPLIANCE ENGINEER
ExactTarget is looking for a technically experienced and innovative Compliance Engineer who, working with the Information Compliance Manager, has the ability to understand IT processes, effectively communicate ExactTarget?s technology and security controls, and drive innovative process changes throughout the organization. This role is part of the Information Security team in Indianapolis Indiana.
The Information Security team values strong cross-team communication & collaboration and is looking for a motivated and collaborative candidate that can work across teams to lead and build consensus, resolve conflicts, and create positive long term working relationships. You should also be able to work in a quickly changing environment and be able to represent Information Security to our customers as well as our internal leadership.
The successful candidate will have experience on working in multiple concurrent projects across various constituencies both within and outside the organization and be adept at explaining complex topics to both technical and non-technical persons. This requires an individual with proven self-direction, self-confidence, and high energy.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate a history of combining a bias for execution with the ability to analyze complex problems, think creatively, communicate recommendations, influence change, and drive the just the right amount of process and structure in an extremely dynamic environment.
?Work with customers in regulated industries to help answer security and privacy compliance related questions
?Act as a trusted technical subject matter expert for our customers in the areas of compliance, information security, privacy, and associated industry standards.
?Lead the successful completion of all phases of customer, industry and regulatory compliance audits and activities, including remediation activities.
?Be accountable for monitoring the effectiveness of our compliance activities, provide key feedback on potential issues and trends, and escalate when appropriate.
?Contribute to improving the Information Security Management System and Compliance Framework overall.
?Help our customers understand security controls protecting ExactTarget services and security features and options that are available for customers to implement based on the sensitivity of data they plan to store.
?Ensure our internal customers understand their various regulatory, contractual and legal compliance obligations within ExactTarget.
?Keep current on ExactTarget's rapidly evolving competitive, process, industry, and product landscape.
?Prepare management level risk analysis reviews, which document the impact of security controls and policy recommendations on business requirements.
?University degree (IT/IS related field preferred) or equivalent professional experience
?Minimum 4 years experience in IT security, compliance or consulting
?Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC or CAIS.
?Experience with information security and privacy standards, laws, and regulations, security risk management, control protocols, methodologies, and practices.
?Good working knowledge of security controls in cloud and/or Software As a Service environments
?Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to ?think-out-of-the-box?.
?Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills that enable positive influence for ExactTarget with customers.
?Experience working directly with regulators, government officials and/or auditors
?Familiarity with the security and privacy regulations and standards such as: Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), GLBA, HIPAA, PIPEDA, Directive 95/46/EC and other relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
