Summary:As an Information Security specialist you will support regulatory and compliance information security requirements, support business efficiencies in information security tools and process enhancements needed to properly support the business in achieving information security compliance.
Perform application vulnerability assessments to identify and prioritize security exposures in the environment
Follow up with IT staff to remediate findings
Manage projects and implement initiatives surrounding information security
Produce metrics reports on security initiatives
Conduct security audits and provide gap analysis against security practices and standards
The Security Specialist role will be responsible for the research, design, implementation and administration of network, system, and application security controls enterprise wide.
Responsibilities:
Configuration and administration of security tools including:
Netscreen Firewalls
Web/Email filter
End point security
IPS/IDS systems
SSL VPN
DLP
Multi Factor Authentication
Vulnerability management
Review of security logs and events
Application security testing
Security Monitoring
Research and implementation of new security techniques and applications
Familiarity with open source security tools
Qualifications:
4+ years managing enterprise security tools
4 year degree or equivalent experience
Must have excellent communication skills and be customer focused
Ability to excel in a high pressure environment
Strong understanding of networking protocols and ability read a packet capture
Strong understanding of security fundamentals
Strong Unix and Windows skills
Basic Shell and Perl scripting
