Information Technology Applications Programmer SP Industries
Location: Warminster, PA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt
SP Industries is seeking an Information Technology Applications Programmer to support and improve the quality and integrity of SP's business data. The incumbent will provide cost effective solutions to assist the organization in utilizing its ERP software to achieve its strategic and operational objectives. This includes the analysis of business requirements, database analysis, developing alternatives for improvement, creating formal system requests, implementation planning, programming development, testing, and documentation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze user requirements, reconcile conflicts, and make appropriate recommendations that will satisfy the needs and objectives of the business.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Develop system approaches and solutions and collaborate with other team members in the selection of the optimum solution.
Develop and implement policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer the database environment.
Plan and conduct structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance
Develop test plans and test scenarios to confirm the successful development of agreed upon solutions.
Test and document the results of system changes and business process changes.
Develop user documentation, work instructions, and job aids as needed.
Train users in business application functions.
Provide application support when required.
Take assigned projects from original concept through final implementation.
Maintain the confidentiality of all information.
Process information and trouble requests in an accurate and timely manner.
Travel between facilities is required.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the minimum qualifications cited.
Education, Experience, and Work Skills
B.S in Information Systems or Finance degree preferred, or equivalent work experience, or combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of relational databases, specifically MS SQL Server.
Knowledge of Intuitive I-ERP 8.6 is a plus.
Knowledge of VBA, Visual Basic.Net and Visual Studio.
Knowledge of MS Access DB Creation.
Able to write queries, create forms, and write and modify VBA code.
Strong programming knowledge of vbEDI.
Knowledge of Crystal Report Writing
Advanced skills in MS Office 2010 Suite and MS Project.
Experience with Manufacturing applications.
Experience with project management techniques and procedures is a plus.
Experience with formal implementation methodologies is a plus.
Must possess strong analytical skills; able to perform diagnostic analysis and debugging on new and existing applications and systems.
Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Able to develop formal specifications for business applications.
Able to translate user and developer concerns, questions, and support issues into effective technical solutions.
Self-motivated with attention to detail, able to organize workloads, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Must be flexible and available to provide off-hours support.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to effectively communicate concepts and details to various departments within the organization in a language they can understand.
Able to communicate with team members and users, managing expectations to reach consensus and achieve successful project outcomes.
Able to create clear, complete and useable written documentation to support the requirements management process and to report findings and outcomes.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
SQL certification is a plus.
