Information Technology (IT) Manager Plextronics

Full-Time Position
Plextronics seeks an Information Technology (IT) Manager to manage the Companys IT assets and operations, including servers, desktop/laptop systems, applications, mobile communications, and voice telephony systems.
Other responsibilities will include the following:
- Refine, communicate & implement corporate IT strategy;
- Ensure IT related cyber/physical security protecting against business loss/interruption;
- Manage IT related external service providers, including establishing objectives and monitoring/correcting performance;
- Establish requirements, make recommendations, and obtain quotes for equipment upgrades and network expansion;
- Communicate IT information to the company;
- Provide IT help-desk support to Plextronics employees and selected contractors, including ticket status/resolution, desk-side troubleshooting, corrective/preventive action, performance monitoring, & employee training;
- Maintain existing IT servers, including back-ups, monitoring, routine maintenance and improvement, both at corporate and co-locations;
- Manage desktop support, including configuration, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting and help-desk activities;
- Manage existing & develop new database applications to improve operations and meet emerging needs;
- Monitor & manage IT service providers, including establishing requirements, reviewing service quality, and developing improvement plans as needed;
- Develop & present IT related internal training programs;
- Regularly provide IT support updates to management;
- Periodically request feedback from company personnel regarding effectiveness of IT support processes, developing improvement plans as needed;
- Document IT-related processes, procedures and work instructions.
The successful candidate will have the following education, skills, and experience:
- Bachelors Degee or equivalent certification (A+, MCP) in Information Systems or related field. Masters Degree preferred;
- Minimum 4 years experience in maintaining IT systems in a corporate environment;
- Minimum 4 years experience in PC repairs, upgrades and system building;
- Hands-on knowledge of common networking principles, Windows Server 2003, Win dows XP, Windows 7, Active Directory, Outlook 2003-2007 and Exchange 2007. Peachtree, MS Access, Sharepoint and/or LIMS a plus;
- Solid conceptual understanding of small to medium sized corporate networks and the roles of all key networking components;
- Ability to provide effective & timely technical support with a professional demeanor to all levels of the organization;
- Above average communication skills, both oral and written;
- Above average problem solving skills; ability to visualize problems or situations and think logically and systematically to isolate the source of issues to to troubleshoot and resolve solve them;
- Ability to effectively handle constantly changing priorities, remain productive during slow times, multi-task effectively during busy times, and exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations;
- Ability to work effectively & responsibly with minimal direct supervision.
