The Infrastructure (Linux) Administrator position provides the opportunity to join the iovation IT team to handle engineering & ongoing system engineering and administration. This position reports to the Director, IT & Product Operations.
The IT team is responsible for the availability and scalability of our SaaS Reputation Manager? fraud prevention system which is continually accessible by our customers. We also manage and maintain the QA, Development and Corporate IT systems.
You must be a self-starter with a passion for exposure to new technologies and ability to expand your skills and knowledge. Our work environment is fast-paced and duties and priorities shift quickly. To be successful with us, you must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities while managing your existing project priorities.
? Build and operate systems for a rapidly growing SaaS hosting infrastructure
? Provide Linux and VMware expertise for high volume production systems
? Act as primary datacenter hardware owner, including racking and stacking new hardware, receiving new equipment, maintaining system inventories, etc.
? Troubleshoot hardware issues with vendors and manage hardware support tickets
? Participate in systems on-call rotation
? Support system monitoring, efficiency and performance tools
? Respond to trouble-tickets via an internal application and/or phone reports
? Document systems and configurations
? Other responsibilities as assigned
? Bachelor?s degree in computer science/technical field or the equivalent in work experience
? Demonstrated experience supporting VMware and Linux systems in a 24x7 production environment
? Thorough understanding of the Linux/Unix shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh, sh)
? Strong awareness of system automation strategies (Yum, kickstart, Puppet)
? Demonstrated experience with VMware vSphere deployments
? Demonstrated experience with web tools, including tomcat, resin, PHP and Apache
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of articulating ideas; able to express opinions in a team enviornment
? Must be detail-oriented, understand the importance of controlling change without delaying deliverables
? Server hardware support (Dell or Supermicro hardware running CentOS)
? Mechanical Server Racking, Cabling, Installation
? Strong mechanical aptitude (i.e. understand the internal workings of a Dell server)
? Works well in a team environment with a superior customer service ethic
