Role and Responsibilities:
Revionics has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our organization. Working with the Information Technology team, this individual will have responsibility for a wide range of infrastructure challenges pursuant to supporting a growing global firm.
As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting key technology initiatives including storage systems, virtualization, cloud technology and other complex networking challenges. The scope of responsibility is broad and well suited for a candidate with intellectual curiosity, internal motivation and significant troubleshooting and research skills.
Sample projects include (but are not limited to) the following:
Tuning storage systems (Hitachi, Rackspace, AWS, etc)
Setting up test environments for new technology (VMWare 5.1)
Windows and Linux administration including para-virtualization drivers, PKI infrastructure elements (SSL / TLS management), and server build and configuration process automation
Long distance storage replication
Disaster recovery planning
Provides advanced technical expertise regarding network services for both local and wide area networks, and the internet.
Performance troubleshooting pertaining to storage, VMWare, and SQL and/or IIS.
Functions as primary support for all infrastructure systems.
Installs, configures, and maintains infrastructure hardware and software.
Monitor infrastructure utilization, capacity, and performance.
Detect, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure problems using methods that minimally impact production environment.
5+ years Windows Server platforms experience
5+ years experience with midrange storage devices (Hitachi preferred)
5+ years Active Directory experience
3+ years experience with either IIS (v7/7.5) or MS SQL Server (v2008+)
Detailed proficiency in several of the following disciplines:
Complex TCP/IP LAN and WAN networking (Juniper preferred)
Enterprise grade storage area networking & storage management, including Fibre Channel, 10G ethernet and/or Infiniband deployments
High availability virtualization systems, practices, and skills (VMWare infrastructure, Xen, Redhat, virtualized stacks at AWS or Rackspace)
Solid understanding of security protocols and procedures, ranging from IDS to systems hardening at enterprise level
Linux (server) systems administration, including LVM storage and LDAP/Samba/SMB interactions
Windows (server) systems administration, including storage management and Active Directory forest/domain management

Knowledge and experience with regulatory protocols such as PCI, HIPAA and Safe Harbor, including work to gain or maintain certifications
Leadership experience managing multi-terabyte, high availability systems (high data size, high I/O, and high availability)
Expertise in performance tuning and optimization for virtualized systems
Proficiency in scripting or shell programming
Experience and research in penetration testing, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessment
Experience in virtual service instance automation, including VMDK management and Chef & Puppet scripting
