Injection Molding Production Engineer Quickparts
The Injection Molding Production Engineer will analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine specified standards and guidelines to help in producing a quality and reliable finished product by performing the following duties:Assist in communicating and solving project related issues with the customer and supplier
Review CAD data for potential manufacturing issues
Run Mold Flow analysis and other manufacturing simulations
Create Design for Manufacturability (DFM) power point presentations - pointing out parting line, ejection, and gate location - to communicate part design and material limitation concerns
Recommend mold material in correlation to the type of plastic that will be run in the mold
Apply statistical methods and perform engineering calculations to determine manufacturing processes and production standards
Develop/implement production and processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner
Provide injection mold pricing/quotation support
Provide part pricing/quotation support
Meet with customers during shop visits/inspections
Position Expectations:
To perform the job successfully, an individual is expected to:
Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost
Have no first article/production issues with parts that were not identified during the DFM process
Provide Sales technical support to gain customer confidence
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on production materials
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on manufacturing technologies
Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems
Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters
Position Requirements:
Associate's Degree or five to seven years of respective manufacturing experience
5+ years of experience building injection molds
Experience with building prototype molds a plus
Expert knowledge of Injection Molding & Tool Building processes
Intermediate SolidWorks user ability
