JOB POSITION: Innovations Demo Services Engineer JOB LOCATION: North America â€" Virtual Office JOB
SUMMARY: The Innovations Demo Services (IDS) Engineer is responsible for exercising effective leadership and operational effectiveness in working with Business Solution Consulting, Product Management and Product Development to create demonstration assets such as workflows, home pages, integrations, application personalizations and customizations, and perform other services needed in preparation for the demo. The Demo Services Engineer is responsible for researching and understanding the needs and defining demo services solution. This position is a non-prospect / customer facing position. The Demo Services Engineer is a key resource of the solution consulting team whose goal is to deliver sales booking results. Innovations Demo Services is a part of the Innovations Enablement Services (IES) / Infor Product Development organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Gain a full understanding of all technical aspects of Infor products in the assigned area of functional presales support.
This position focuses on the following Infor products:
o Infor Business Intelligence (BI) Suite
ï'§ ImportMaster (ETL)
ï'§ BI OLAP Server
ï'§ Application Studio
ï'§ Dashboard framework
o Infor Workspace, Socialspace
o Infor ION Desk, ActivityDeck
• Gain an understanding of the prospect's business and technical requirements as related to the demo services request
• Conceptualize, design and build solutions with guidance from functional solution consultants
• Work with product management and development to create demos, proof-of â€"concept and other products.
• Post all work and assets created on the IES portal, or other Infor servers
• Review IDS operations with the IDS manager for process improvements
• Participate at tradeshows, conferences and other events as needed
• Assist the IDS Manager with the management of department resources as requested.
• Become affiliated with industry groups, user groups, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Four-year college degree, or equivalent, with a major in Engineering, Math, Business, or Computer Science
• 3 years of application development experiences with application design and creation
• 3 years of technical experiences in:
o OLAP, OLAP Cube development
o ETL
o MS-SQL and database administration o Report writer and graphing applications
o XML, HTML, Portal and website construction
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Product, Technical and Business Skills o Advanced computer science principles and concepts o Knowledge and understanding of application software development
o Computer communications and network functions
o SQL, database, Web, XML and related technologies and architecture
• Interpersonal Skills o Effective written, oral and presentation skills o Understands solution consultant processes and techniques o Strong self-motivation, able to work remote away from support resources o Team leading and participation
• Administrative Skills
o Apply project management skills to deliver on commitments on-time and with quality
o Able to organize and prioritize work in a multi-tasking environment
o Able to meet deadlines, follow through on commitments, and take corrective action where appropriate
TRAVEL PROFILE
• 10% travel to support team initiatives OTHER
• Remote / home office acceptable with reliable, high-speed internet availability
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Strong Database and SQL skills
• Experience in Infor or other OLAP solutions
