FirstFuel is an exciting and fast growing company that is becoming the leader in the commercial energy efficiency analytics space. We are looking for an Inside Sales Associate to help uncover new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will work closely with the entire field sales team and the marketing team to drive overall sales pipeline growth. We are looking for an experienced sales representative who is smart, and has proven experience developing, delivering and growing new and existing account revenue. The expectation is for the candidate to demonstrate strong business development instincts as well as specific expertise, which can be leveraged from day one to quickly build a strong business pipeline and to meet sales targets. The candidate will be asked to work out of the Lexington office on a daily basis.
Conduct outbound lead generation through targeted sales calls to potential customers.
Perform market research and analysis (state, utility, and partner information) to identify and explore potential business opportunities and inform team of relevant updates/news.
Take the lead on managing inbound requests and projects from prospects and current accounts.
Support all members of the Sales & Marketing teams and help to enhance department efficiency.
Work closely with Salesforce.com, with a focus on data quality and expansion, e.g. update and build out contact/account information.
Build and maintain internal documentation, online tools and processes for team to easily retrieve and process company-wide or department-wide information.
Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:
BA/BS from a top university.
Minimum of 2-5 years of sales or business development experience. Experience within the energy industry and with SaaS and/or enterprise software is a plus.
Demonstrated experience and successful results with outbound sales calls.
Thrives working with clients, understanding their personalities and their business needs, and delivering world-class solutions to meet these needs.
Strong instinctual ability to grow business with a client, and can set and execute on a multi-year growth strategy with the client.
Functions well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for delivering results is set high.
Strong organization and time management skills to manage high volumes of contacts by targeted segment and account.
Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally (over the phone and in person).
Strong technical skills ? regular use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to use basic Customer Relationship Management Database (Salesforce.com).
Fast learner who is quick on their feet with an appetite to learn.
Passion for helping others do more with less (energy efficiency).
