Inside Sales Associate WaterSmart
Based in San Francisco and founded in 2009, WaterSmart is the national leader in water- focused consumer engagement software and services. WaterSmart Software helps water utilities make it easier for their customers to save water and save money. Using personalized Home Water Reports and access to an interactive web portal, utilities educate their consumers about how much water their household uses, how they compare to neighbors and how they can save water and money. WaterSmart has proven that presented with this information, consumers use water up to 5% more efficiently. Incremental gains in water efficiency at the household level translate into significant system-wide economic savings for WaterSmart's utilities.
The Sales Associate must be a self-starter, willing to work hard and possess a 'can do' attitude. The Associate will have primary responsibility for building and qualifying a pipeline of water utility customers throughout the US. The goals are to maximize WaterSmart's pilot programs and deliver quality solutions with superlative service to our utility customers. Some travel will be required. Reports to CEO.
Generate prospective customers through cold calling and from marketing-generated leads.
Must be comfortable making > 35 outbound calls / day.
Close sales (pilots and expansions to existing customers).
Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and competitors' activities.
Implement an account development plan that optimizes revenue growth, profitability,
and customer satisfaction/loyalty directly or through channel partners.
Track ongoing business results compared to the plan's established goals and execute corrective action(s) when needed.
Initiate / build / maintain long-term relationships with the appropriate account decision makers for
upselling customer accounts after initial deployments.
Drive client presentations articulating the value proposition of product /solution offerings.
Build Rapport / Relationships. Troubleshoot customer issues with technical skill andsuperior communication.
1-3 years prior Telesales experience
Experience utilizing CRM tools (Salesforce.com) for sales tracking and management
Superior customer communication skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven inside sales experience - Start-to-Finish (Initiated & Closed deals); consultative selling
Passion for saving water and fighting climate change
Comfort with putting team goals ahead of individual goals
Internally motivated to do first-class quality work
Takes initiative to suggest and execute improvements without guidance
Self-motivated and extremely goal-oriented
Must enjoy selling & assisting people in making secure investment decisions
Base Wage: $40K - $60K, commensurate with experience
Commission: upside to $75K- $95K based on team sales and exceeding targets
