Responsible for sales of Scantron's Data Solutions products and services to K12 School Districts and Higher Education Organizations. Responsibilities include achievement of revenue quotas, solution selling, and account management. Daily objective is to manage an existing customer base and develop/close new business for Data Solutions products in a multiple-state territory.
Key Duties / Responsibilities

-Meet total revenue quota and individual product goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
-Achieve guidelines for a high level of sales calls on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Balance all sales activity within the Post-Secondary market within assigned area of responsibility.
Promote Scantron Professional Services, Survey Outsourcing Services and Assessment Support Services.
-Obtain and master knowledge of all Scantron Data Solutions products. Be able to articulate the key features and benefits of each product. This includes Scantron's scanners, software (Cognition Imaging, Class Climate, ParSystem, Prosper, ScanTools, DesignExpert, Engage Response System, SurveyTracker, Remark Classic OMR) ,custom scan forms AS/PS.
-Possess excellent selling skills and demonstrate the ability to move prospects through each
phase of the sales cycle. Utilize appropriate needs analysis skills before matching Scantron products to a client's needs.
-Identify and maintain information on industry competitors. This includes a solid knowledge of their brands/models, stated features/benefits, pricing, and strategies.
-Develop and implement action plans and sales strategies for maintaining and expanding revenue potential in existing accounts in assigned territory.
-Develop and implement aggressive sales strategies for creating brand new revenue prospects.
-Exercise an appropriate level of contact with all key accounts, including those with highest current revenue and/or with high revenue potential.
-Demonstrate proficiency using all Scantron administrative software programs including, but not limited to, Salesforce.com.
-Follow up on all leads immediately. Utilize Saleforce.com to develop a reliable lead tracking system, and convert viable leads expediently to opportunities.
-Perform as an interactive, cooperative and contributing member of the Scantron sales team.
-Develop knowledge of and work closely with Scantron VARs and Third Party Software companies that partner with Scantron.
Education & Knowledge Required
4-year college degree (Business or Education majors preferred) or equivalent sales experience
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
Thorough knowledge of the selling process and the role that technical expertise plays in that process.
Strong PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software for handling word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and other tasks to perform job efficiently.
Strong technical skills and understanding of software technologies required.
3 - 5 years successful direct selling of testing, survey or enterprise software in the K12 education market. Experience in handling a multi-state territory with multi-task responsibilities.
Language and Communication Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess an excellent command of the English language and must have excellent oral and written communication skills. He/she must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as software manuals and operating instructions, and procedure manuals. He/she must have the ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and group situations, both to customers and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percentage, margin and discounts. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Able to use standard office equipment, including fax machines, phone systems and components, voice mail, email, PDA, and any other telecommunication or technology devices that are integral to the effective territory management.
Marginal Job Functions:
Perform all administrative tasks, completely and on-time. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Weekly Call Activity Reports, Prospect Lists, Price Quotations/Proposals, Sales Forecasts, Bids/RFPs/RFQs, Draft Forms Designs, and Sales Order Forms.
Maximize the use of Salesforce.com Client Management software and maintain up-to-date records. Use written correspondence, email, voice mail, and Internet/Web tools appropriately in administrating job tasks.
Maintain communication with management regarding activities in the assignedterritory. This includes notification and status of major sales opportunities, competitive issues, and successfully closed business.
Maintain high profit margins, and exercise good judgment when discounting prices.
