The Instructional Designer / Learning Specialist will focus primarily on the instructional design responsibilities to evaluate, improve, and/or and revamp existing curricula. This individual will work closely with the training manager and needs to be able to complete all assigned projects by the due date with minimal supervision. As needed, the Learning Specialist will deliver classroom training, but top priority is instructional design.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop training materials for classroom training based on sound instructional design.
Edit and improve sections of existing curricula.
Use business goals to design learning objectives with reinforcing activities that incorporate different learning styles.
Use Bloom's Taxonomy; apply the principles of Adult Learning Theory and apply the most effective Learningr Theory per subject such as using the behaviorist/cognitive/constructionist approach.
Understand and follow the ADDIE review cycle.
Be receptive to any and all edits and constructive feedback provided by SMEs and/or peers regarding training materials.
Create knowledge checks/assessments based on Kirkpatrick's levels of evaluation.
Update training materials and track changes.
Deliver T3 sessions via web conferencing.
Ability to deliver classroom training as needed.
Skills/Education/Experience:
Degree or equivalent work experience required.
4+ years of experience with all facets of instructional design.
Proficient writing and editing skills, especially changing content written in passive voice to active voice.
Expert using Word and PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge of Excel.
Ability to learn quickly.
Experience in customer service training a plus.
Experience creating soft skills and product training a plus.
Experience creating technical, procedurals, regulatory, and/or systems training a plus.
