ISO insurance lines analysts are specialists in insurance policy form coverage. They draft policy language and develop manual rules that guide insurers in issuing policies, and also develop related information, including filings, portfolios, manual pages, and customer status circulars. ISO insurance lines analysts enjoy a unique and exciting position in the industry. They are responsible for understanding the political, legal and economic issues that affect their areas of insurance. They review judicial, regulatory, and legislative activity for its importance to ISO forms (policy-contract language), rules, and rating information. Insurance lines analysts also monitor emerging trends in the industry and recommend program revisions to management to help keep ISO products and services current and competitive. They also prepare and deliver presentations on current issues to ISO Customer Panels and prepare responses to customer, regulatory, and ISO field office inquiries.
The qualified candidate must have the following:
College degree or equivalent experience.
At least two years P&C insurance product development experience involving forms, rules, and/or loss costs required. Businessowners, Professional Liability (E&O), and/or D&O experience a plus.
Knowledge of ISO Line workflow procedures preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are necessary.
Proficient computer skills required.
CPCU or RPLU exam study or completion is a plus.
