Integration and Support Specialist MedAptus

Position Overview

The Integration and Support Specialist will be responsible for MedAptus application support with a focus on system interface related issues and enhancement requests. Responsibilities include working with customers to troubleshoot reported issues, maintaining and extending existing interfaces, and identifying interface enhancement opportunities. Strong communication skills are required as the Integration and Support Specialist will be responsible for fielding support calls as well as managing ongoing customer communications. This role requires excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.

This position will require some off-hours work for system maintenance and upgrade, as well as periods of on-call coverage during weekends and holidays.
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

- Bachelors degree in MIS, computer science or related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in a team environment that includes cross department representatives from both Development and Deployment staffs
- Ability to work with and coordinate discussions with Hospital Administrators and IS staff
- Understanding of HL7 Standard specifications, especially but not limited to ADT, SIU, DFT
- 2 years experience in healthcare information system (and/or interface) deployment or support
- 2 years experience with data evaluation in a variety of formats: XML, Relational DB table, delimited, name/value pairs
- 2 years SQL querying experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database engine

Software Skills

- HL7 data evaluation tools, Interfaceware Chameleon/Iguana a plus
- Experience with MS SQL Server Support / Administration a plus
- Understanding network communications protocols, especially TCP/IP and FTP
- Java, VB.NET or other object-oriented programming experience
- Windows Scripting and Scheduling
- MS Office (including Outlook) and Visio.
