Intelligence Analyst - New Media IJet Intelligent Risk Systems

Summary Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Strategic Decision Support, the Intelligence Analyst ? New Media will support the creation of intelligence products that will provide a better understanding of those incidents, events or circumstances that affect the risk, security, safety and political environment in the United States. While relying on iJET?s traditional methods for collection of information, the analyst will focus on leveraging new media outlets (user generated content/social media postings) to source and confirm intelligence.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Ability to cultivate and mature a network of sources through social media, email and telephone conversations
Ability to concisely and quickly convey essential facts in written reports
Excellent project management skills
Proven record of leadership and resource management
Robust understanding of the factors that affect the crime, security, and safety environment in the US
Robust understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of new/social media
Critical thinking, strong research abilities, interest in global affairs and problem solving

Education/Experience

Bachelor?s Degree in Library Science, Political Science, Journalism, or Homeland Security, Criminology/Sociology, American Studies/American History, Intelligence Studies - or equivalent combination of education/experience required
4 years experience in a related field required
