Interaction Design Intern airbnb
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED This position starts summer 2013.
Airbnb is the world's largest marketplace for space, and we keep getting bigger every day. With 10 million nights booked and counting, we're constantly tackling challenges in search algorithms, payments, fraud prevention, and growth ? all while maintaining a beautiful user experience. We want to build solutions to these problems that are scalable, performant, and elegant, and we're looking for talented interns to help us do just that.
Proposing, debating and prioritizing possible features with your peers from engineering, product management, analytics, and customer support. Yes, there will be post-its.
Sketching flows and rough layouts, ideating broadly and iterating quickly.
Prototyping interfaces using your tool of choice (Fireworks, Keynote, Invision, HTML, etc).
Polishing the final details side-by-side with the engineers building it out.
Critiquing daily (informally with close co-workers) and weekly (with the entire design team).
Inspiring the entire team with great examples and stories.
Has used Airbnb and is passionate and opinionated about this whole collaborative consumption thing.
Is a maker at heart, and one with a sense of craft. We value the crap out of user research, but we?re focusing more specifically on someone who?ll be designing (a lot).
Might deeply value UI (read: visual) design, but understands what it is to design across time and state. That ?interaction? part is what resonates with you.
Has already designed at least one stellar interaction. To take a quote way out of context, ?you know it when you see it?, and you?ve seen it.
Is already an expert at something ? no matter how small ? that you could teach us during your internship.
Is probably a student, or a recently graduated one. Hopefully you already have some real-world experience as a practicing interaction designer. If you?re not a student but think an internship would still be a good fit, apply anyway and let us know why.
