To help evolve and create new products, VersionOne is recruiting an experienced, talented, and passionate interaction designer to join our agile product development team. This person will be responsible for the user experience and usability of VersionOne's current and future products.Responsibilities Include:
--Discovery, design, and definition of the interaction design for an effective user experience:
--Perform user research and task analysis, including storymapping
--Interactive prototyping and usability/user testing
--Feature/user story interaction design
--Develop conceptual models, process flows/navigational maps and UI mockups
--Provide insightful feedback to improve the quality of the product and reduce the complexity of the user interface
Qualifications:
Most of all, our ideal candidate is smart, creative, talented, and can work effectively with the other members of our team. The ideal candidate should have experience as a member of an agile software development team and be able to incorporate UX practices into user story definition & planning, and in an iterative development process. The right individual knows better than to become emotionally attached to their prototypes and designs and is capable of iterating with the product development team to create a user experience optimized for the technical limitations at hand. Technical aspects of user interface design are also required, including HTML/CSS/javascript-based page development. All product team members are expected to participate in and contribute to all phases of the product development cycle, from definition and design through implementation and user testing.
At a minimum, the candidate should have experience with the following:
--User Experience/user interface design tools & techniques (e.g. user-centered design, personas, interactive prototyping)
--Interactive prototypes, storyboards, wireframes, workflows and mockups
--Conducting usability tests and user research
--An in-depth understanding of graphic design and web design
--Software design within the constraints of the web
Experience:
--A degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field or equivalent work experience
--5+ years' working in HCI or as a UX/Interaction Designer for a web product
--Able to understand highly complex products and present an effective and usable UI to the customer
--Experience designing web applications
--Experience with usability testing and interpretation of results
--Excellent written, verbal and diagrammatic communication skills
--Proficiency in at least a few related skills (e.g., DHTML, Flash, JavaScript, Graphic Design, Interactive Prototyping)
