Codecademy's design team is looking for a highly skilled interaction designer. Qualified candidates have solid experience with UX/UI design and a penchant for critical thinking and creative problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a demonstrated history of taking ownership of projects.Codecademy empowers a global community of students to learn and teach each other to code. As part of the design team, you would be tackling the challenges of online education by designing sophisticated web interfaces.
Responsibilities
Make high-level contributions to strategy by concepting existing and future product features
Create wireframes and "pixel-perfect" mockups of interfaces
Iterate on and test designs
Requirements
Solid portfolio featuring interaction design for apps
Ability to clearly communicate and discuss design decisions
Clean and elegant design aesthetic
Strong eye for typography, layout, and color
Extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Deep understanding of how a design would be implemented in code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Ability to set and meet deadlines
Enthusiasm for teaching and code
