Located in the Davis, CA. facility, the primary responsibility of the Entomology Intern is to support the
Entomology group with research projects, insect rearing and assist in the development of new
experimental methods.
The incumbent will:
? Conduct bioassay experiments to test for efficacy, analyze and present the data effectively.
? Prepare plate media as needed for testing.
? Assist with insect and nematode rearing.
Desired Skills & Experience
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
? Current University student or recent graduate in the field of Entomology, Plant Physiology,
Nematology, Biology, or related agricultural field with laboratory experience from one or more
courses, or through previous work experience.
? Microsoft Suite of programs including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe.
? Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists.
? Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
? Ability to multi?task and work in a fast paced environment.
? Effectively organize, prioritize and follow?up on work assignment.
? Maintain accurate records.
? Work independently and as a member of a team.
? Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
? Professional and confidential.
Salary and Grade Level will be commensurate with experience and/or education level.
