Located in the Davis, CA. facility, the primary responsibility of the Fermentation Intern is to support
departmental glassware cleaning, and assist with media preparation for the Research and Development
teams. The position will also assist with the preparation of media, agar plates and stock solutions used
for research efforts by multiple departments. Responsibilities will include routine autoclaving of media
and glassware.
The incumbent will:
? Perform dishwashing of lab ware to support basic R&D functions.
? Support biological waste, decontamination and disposal.
? Assist with the preparation of routine liquid and solid media and stock solutions.
? Use of basic laboratory equipment (balances, stir plates, measuring devices such as pipettes,
biological hoods, autoclaves and dishwashers).
? Perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.
Desired Skills & Experience
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
? B.S. or B.A. degree from a four?year University or accredited college, or current college
enrollment preferred.
? One (1) year experience in a laboratory.
Salary and Grade Level will be commensurate with experience and/or education level.
