This individual will assist the Project Manager (PM) in leading all planning and deployment aspects of customer projects for a customer in the San Antonio, TX area. The Intern, PM must have the ability to work independently in the assistance of initial project planning, conducting analysis, developing reports, and working directly with the customer throughout SSN network installations. The Intern, PM will be called upon to interface with internal customers (Sales, Marketing and Product Development organizations in particular) on product and systems improvements.
Interface with multiple, senior-level stakeholders from SSN, customer, and contractor installation teams during installation.
Demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects. SSN?s networks are in great demand and the Intern, PM must be able to coordinate multiple projects in varying degrees of deployment.
Assist in documentation of project objectives, actions and as-completed materials, and all contracted reports as outlined in each project?s deliverables list. Document and communicate all project issues, potential solutions and recommended actions to the PM.
Uses queries and simple analytics to illustrate contract performance on compliance metrics, and performs data collection and aggregation in support of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
Prepares analysis and charts in support of showing project deployment performance (deployed meters, supply chain, network performance, material inventory levels, etc.) using data analysis, charts, geospatial data, etc.
Helps maintain tracking of all procured hardware from forecast, through procurement, into deployed status. Monitors inventory levels of all catalog numbers in context with deployment plans to ensure sufficient inventory.
Progress towards a Bachelor of Science in engineering. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to describe multiple business situations where these skills have been leveraged.
Must possess above average written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in personal computer operations and use of word processing, project management, spreadsheet programs plus experience with off-the-shelf and special-purpose test programs. Microsoft Project is SSN?s standard project management application.
Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meter reading and related distribution automation technologies is desirable.
Technical training and knowledge of radio frequency equipment used in planning and installing radio network equipment and multiple wired/wireless wide area networks is also desirable.
Experience with GIS, CIS and other utility systems are highly desirable.
Possess a valid driver?s license and a US passport.
