INTERN - SCIENTIFIC CURATION TEAM NextBio
This is a full-time internship opportunity for an accurate, detail-oriented biology student in a rapidly growing Biotech company. We have built an innovative web-based platform that enables scientists to easily search for, access, and utilize knowledge locked within the deluge of public and proprietary data paving the path forward for personalized medicine. You will be working with the NextBio Scientific Curation Team who is responsible for keeping abreast of the latest developments in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other high-throughput technologies and data integration strategies.
We require the assistance of an intern in a fast-paced information mining/curation project. This position requires an efficient, self-motivated individual with an ever-vigilant eye for detail who holds that the scientific accuracy of their work is of absolute importance. Including an example demonstrating your attention to detail and where your efficiency helped you succeed would be appreciated.
Requirements:
Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences
Solid grounding in genetics, genomics, and oncology. Please list relevant coursework and experience
Must be accurate, efficient, organized, be able to work independently, be able to troubleshoot and have excellent communication skills. Examples demonstrating these skills would be appreciated.
Familiarity or experience using databases such as the resources of the NCBI and other repositories of biomedical data is a plus
Prior Lab and literature based research experience is a plus
