Internal Audit Director Guidewire Software
Reporting directly to the Audit Committee Chairman, dotted line administratively to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will be responsible for assisting the development, implementation, performance, supervision and reporting on the adequacy of the Company's system of internal controls over financial reporting. In addition, the Director will be responsible for reviewing processes and controls, and conducting operational audits to improve processes throughout all aspects of the business. Will manage internal or professional resources as required.
Job Requirements:- Effectively develop and manage the SOX program, including support of the quarterly/annual SOX Section 302 and 404 certification processes
- Manage the planning (annual risk assessment, materiality determination, calendar) and determination of design and operating effectiveness
- Provide technical and operational assistance to functional business areas in development, refinement and documentation of internal controls, SOX compliance and business process improvements.
- Perform SOX testing and ensure test results are appropriately documented and communicated, as needed
- Communicate deficiencies, and coordinates and reports on gap remediation and process improvement status
- Conduct an overall risk assessment as part of the development of the annual internal audit plan
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and execute internal audits, including the design and execution of the audit program and creation of the internal audit reports
- Work with management to ensure that remediation plans are appropriate, implemented in a timely manner, and yield the desired results Frequently interacts with functional peer group at all levels, including senior management and external auditors
- Research and stay current on new technical literature applicable to the internal control process (e.g., PCAOB guidance, SEC, etc.), emerging trends and best practices
Education and Work Experience:- Minimum 10+ years of progressively responsibility over internal audit and SOX
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required or Certified Internal Audit or equivalent is required
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB Auditing Standard 5, risk and controls standards and business process best practices
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate ideas effectively and concisely with all levels of management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to provide creative recommendations and to work with others, to lead and affect process change and improvement
- Self-motivated and self-directed; must have demonstrated ability to work well with people
- Demonstrated orientation to action in a flexible, fast pace work and possess ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
