San Francisco, CA or Portland, OR
At New Relic, we build software tools for developers that improve the performance of their apps. We need to solve hard problems to make performance monitoring dead simple for our customers. As a result, we have become the developer's best friend. Really. Over 80,000 of them have used New Relic, more than all other APM companies combined.
Behind our great products and fast growth is an operations and support machine that makes it all possible. That's where you come in.
We are looking for a talented engineer to join our IT Operations to build innovative products that improve workflow and efficiency. So if you are passionate about problem solving and thrive on implementing graceful solutions, we have your dream job!
You will be responsible for helping build and maintain the back office systems and services that keep things running smoothly as New Relic experiences rapid growth and expands internationally. You'll work as part of a tight knit team where you'll have the chance to take ownership of projects from concept to finish and make a large and direct impact on the success of the company.
The successful candidate has a proven track record of expertly applying development methodologies and solutions to optimize complex systems, process, and workflows. Understands the end user and can create simple, elegant solutions. Understands why something needs to be built not just what needs to be built. Has the perfect blend of technical strength and business acumen.
Some of the things you'll be doing:
--Analyzing work processes to determine inefficiencies and opportunities for automation
--Designing, implementing, testing, and launching internal tools.
--Maintaining existing tools and infrastructure.
--Developing internal database expertise and managing data pulls
You could be the right person for us if you have:
--4+ years experience of developing internal tools that unify different parts of the stack and simplify complex workflows
--Experience with UNIX, preferably Linux
--Enjoy working directly with the people who use your product
--Strong Mac OS background
--Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent additional experience
