General Description:
The Internal Systems and Tools Engineer will be responsible for the direction and management of various applications and software services used by Peak 10 employees and customers. The ISTE will serve as the technical lead over the Internal Systems Group, for systems such as: Ticketing, Monitoring, and Customer Portal. They will work with the Peak 10 development team to ensure consistent delivery of all custom designed applications.
Key Responsibilities:
The ISTE will:
? Provide Technical Leadership to the Internal Systems and Tools team
o Assist in the setting of direction for toolset usage and capabilities
o Create training documentation for users for toolset usage and capabilities
o Manage implementation and migration projects, for applicable tools, to completion
o Help manage vendor relationships for any third party tools and services
? Maintain accountability for Internal Systems and Tools performance
o Work with Internal Systems and Tools Administrators, to ensure proper delivery of all systems and tools, under group?s management
o Provide weekly updates as to performance and capacity of various toolsets
o Maintain working diagram of all systems and their inter-dependencies
o Develop documentation for user and administration training of systems and tools
o Work with Peak 10 Development Team on proper maintenance of development systems
? Implement and maintain Internal Systems and Tools infrastructure
o Maintain VMware resource pool
o Build VMs and physical servers as necessary to support new and existing systems and tools
o Implement and Test DR plan for critical systems and tools
Requirements :
? AA, BS, or High School Diploma and actively pursuing and advanced degree in the technology field
? Strong background and experience with various server, application, and network technologies including:
- VMWare and/or other virtualization technologies
- Microsoft Server Technologies (IIS, SQL, Exchange, etc?)
- Linux (or other -nix platforms)
- Remote Desktop, SSH, Console Access
- VLAN?s, ACL?s, IP subnets
- SNMP
- Scripting and coding
- API integration
? Excellent people and proactive communications skills
? Demonstrable time and project management skills
? Experience with ticket documentation system preferred
? Strong attention to detail, and a capacity to follow procedures
